Pet Mommy Pictures with Santa
Our Mom's were at Pet Mommy in Harrison, Arkansas on November 17th. They had such fun with all the dogs that came to have their picture with the "real Santa." We wish we could have been there too, but we were working on a different project. (We have so much work to do these days.)
So for everyone that was at this "We'll Shoot Your Dog. . .with Santa", you can now see additional pictures in our Picture A Moment Pet Productions LLC shop.

The Morning After - A Follow-Up with Pumpkin the Yorkie
Good morning Pumpkin. Can you tell us what is
happening this morning?
Delaware Governor has
lifted the Level 2 driving restriction today at 8:30AM. Roadways are still
closed in flooded area of Milford, and evacuation area still closed. They are
not allowing anyone into this area, not even the owners until all is more
secure. There are wires down and etc.
How is your Mom?
Mom got out to the drug
store for her leg is swelling from doing too much. I stayed home to keep an eye
on things while she went out.
Your mom has a business in the basement – Was there
any damage?
No damage. She is very thankful for that there was no
damage to her inventory, equipment. While
mom checked things out I was able to burn off a little energy, so I ran back
and forth around the many rooms of the basement, and ran up and down the all 15
steps too.
Have you been in contact with any other pets in
your area?
Yes, my aunt called to
check in on us and let us talk to her son, Ethan and Bentrix, their English
Springer. Ethan told me that “B” that’s
short for Bentrix was down in their new playroom in the basement check out the
house during the storm last night. Suddenly B started barking and growling. Well
my aunt came running down the steps to check on kids and why the dog was
barking. B had found a SNAKE in the
basement- well that totally freaked my aunt out. Well, Ethan started laughing - for the Snake was
a fake. He has freaked them both out. Not bad for a 3 year old. I had to chuckle myself – mom is a clown you know,
so he is showing great clown humor side.
That is a great story Pumpkin – I am sure in
times like these – a little humor is great. Did they receive any damage from
the storm?
Yes, they did get damage
in the sunroom roof leaking and trees down, so B the dog was on high alert to
secure her home safety.
You are sounding a little tired, how are you
feeling Pumpkin?
I am exhausted from
yesterday and all the barking I had to do protecting my home from Sandy the
Super Storm. I still have not eaten and I have been resting in my favorite spot
the sunroom today. I wish we would have sun and that this rain will stop. Mom
is still a little worried about of next tide levels. I can sense her fears and
anxiety; these storm are hard on her, I knew something was wrong but not sure
what or why.
Well I hope things are ok for tomorrow, I know
you enjoy Halloween.
Well we will not have
Halloween Treat or Trick for safety reasons, this year, but mom said she will
take me to the Local Pet Store in Costume tomorrow if they open. I really need a
good run, and outing.
Thanks for giving us an update Pumpkin. I hope we can hear more from you in the
future – Do you have anything coming up that in the near future?
As a matter of fact, I will
get to go to Assist Living Next month for a caring clown visit. I don’t know who loves these visits more, me
or the residents.
That is great; I can’t wait to check back in
with you Pumpkin. Tell your mom we are glad everything is ok, and hope you get
out tomorrow.

Special Inside Report - Hurricane Sandy - Dog's Perspective
Skyler ScoopDog Canine Community Reporter - with the scoop from Pumpkin - in Milford Delaware. Here is our interview. My questions are in bold
Hello Pumpkin can you please tell me how things are over in Milford.
Hello everyone, The wind is strong and has windows and doors shaking, so as any good Yorkie it is his duty to secure his home. My mom has locked and secured the sun room which is my favorite place to be, so now I have to find a new location for Yorkie duty - which is now a small bedroom chair looking out my moms bedroom window.
Pumpkin, good work - can you tell us how Hurricane Sandy is effecting wildlife by you?
Sandy the Hurricane has been a strong storm, so many wildlife birds have been coming to the farm field behind my home. Looking out the new duty spot - the bedroom window, I have been barking at the many Geese seeking a rest in the field. We had many seagulls too. The highlight of my day was a fox that has been hanging around since yesterday seeking shelter. The fox has been the most upsetting to me, so I continue to warn my mom that he is there. I have literally pulled on her sleeve to get her to go to the window spot to see the Fox.
Pumpkin - How close are you to an Emergency Shelter?
We are about a block from the Milford Middle School the Shelter for area. Right now I am safe at my home, but the area is flooding, and no one has been allowed on roadway since 5 am. Milford Shelter does allow pets, so if we must go my cage, foods, and toys are ready. Not all shelters allow pets so we are lucky this Red Cross Shelter does
What about you know... when you have to go to the bathroom?
I am refusing to go out so we are back to paper training, the high winds are to much for me, you know I weigh less than 5 pounds.
Whats it like outside right now?
We are now getting to the worst hours of Sandy, so the sky has lightening flashes, I have been covering the story from under the blanket of my mom's bed during these time. Tonight's High Tide will have Milford flooding more, and winds are to 75 mph. Center/Eye is to make landfall around 6pm in Atlantic City area. If is tracks as they think, the eye wall will bring the heavier rains. It is the most dangerous time.
How is this going to effect your Halloween this year?
I am going to miss Halloween and this year, my costume is a Pumpkin, My mom told me Halloween was cancelled here.
How are you feeling now Pumpkin - are you nervous or scared?
Being nervous about the storm, I have not eaten today. Mom gave me my favorite chew, a Texas Toothpick by Merrick this seem to get my mind off the storm.
What was that news flash we just heard?
News just stated my shelter do not allow pets, how sad, so many pets must be so upset. Mom and I are praying for them alone in their home, which could be flooding. One in Darby, Pa stated on NBC News Channel 10 out of Philadelphia, Pa stated they can't have pets because they have kids. How wrong is that??
Please keep all the pets in your prayers.
We will do that for sure Pumpkin and thank you and your mom, Carol Coleman for speaking to us today - We will be checking back in on Pumpkin as this storm progresses.

Tribute To My Dog
This is Mandie. I'm really sad today. A lot of my Mom's friends are having a rough time because their Canine & Feline family members are getting really sick and even some are dying. OH NO. I don't know how I can help, but my Mom made this just for those that have dogs. I hope this helps. I'll say a prayer.
Always blessings. . .never losses, your Canine Reporter, Mandie

Hazards of Laughing When Taking Photos
There should be warning labels on cameras that states: Warning: If you are easily amused and to the point that might make you chuckle or laugh, especially when taking pictures. Do NOT USE CAMERA.
As you can see, mom was doing both... actually she was slipping down the hill on her butt while taking this shot of Chigger and I playing. We live on a 30 degree incline and I will just say, my view would have been more interesting than this shot she got. She actually got me in mid sentence... "MOM - I told you I wanted to wear the webcam outside. I could have had the whole thing on Youtube tonight,"
I have to admit, it has been a little rough having a new pup in the house. I lost my best friend, Lizzie, this spring. Lizzie was Bill's Miniature Pinscher. She was older than me, and now I have a young lady in the house. Mom did some reading and found this interesting enough to share.

The following insights and techniques are adapted from the book, "Creating a Peaceable Kingdom: How to Live with More Than One Pet" by Cynthia D. Miller.
Issues to consider before bringing a new dog home: * Barking If your present dog is not a barker, remember that another dog may create a noisemaking situation. Even if the new dog is not a barker, the two dogs together may increase the excitement level so greatly that they just can't help themselves. Perhaps they make noise only when they are playing, but it can still be irritating to those around you. (Note: It is important to determine and address the underlying cause of problems such as barking, not just the symptoms.) * Fighting Some breeds or individual dogs tend to fight more than others. If the dog you have an affection for is one that has a tendency to be dog-aggressive, be prepared to deal with this problem. (This might include careful supervision when you're home, and total separation of the dogs when you can't supervise them.) * Training Your present dog should be well trained before adding another canine. Being able to control using basic obedience commands is essential. Every dog should be obedience trained using a gentle, mutual respect-based training method. If you have not given your pet reason to doubt the sincerity of your motives or any reason to be resentful or distrusting, you will not lose control simply because there is another dog in the house. * Pack Behavior If you have two dogs and are adopting a third, you may find that the two gang up on the new addition. When two dogs create a united front against the newcomer, intervene and take charge immediately to make the transition work. Otherwise, the situation can become dangerous. Your pets will know you are leader if you have shown them that the best thing in the world is to look to you for guidance. When the dogs know that you make the rules, they live by your standards. They will work out a pecking order among themselves, and they will continue to respect your authority. Make sure they see you as master before they spend extended time alone together. * Gender As long as you spay and neuter, one animal of each sex is the most frequently recommended combination. Peaceful coexistence depends on three keys -- the unique personality of the animal, your attitude, and your determination to make it work -- not just the gender of the animal. * Age Getting another dog of a different age will generally make things easier. If both dogs are adolescents, they can be quite unruly. Although there are no set rules, some trainers suggest that the best age difference is around three years. This difference seems to make the balance of dominant and submissive positions evolve naturally. The development of friendships can be more difficult with a larger age span. * Two Puppies Training one puppy takes hard, dedicated work. Training two puppies is twice the work. If you know that you want two dogs, it is recommended to get one dog and raise him with all of the manners that you would expect your little canine buddy to possess, and then add another. The older dog may demonstrate the proper way to earn your attention and admiration, and your new little charge may learn the ways of your home more quickly. * Attention Keep your first buddy confident in the knowledge that he is important. Letting your attention diminish because of the new family member can produce jealousy in your first dog, which may create aggressive behavior and anxiety. In dogdom, there is no equality; there is a definite hierarchy, with one dog higher than the other. Your new dog will not suffer a psychological blow if you give the first dog more attention. Show your first dog affection when the new dog is around. * Dominance Issues Bringing in a new animal companion will alter the dynamics of the group, so this is an especially important time to be aware of social order. Your dominant dog should have his ranking reinforced by being fed first, going through the door first (though not ahead of you), and receiving your attention first. * Keeping Order Although the dogs must develop their own social order, they must remember that you are still in charge. This means being fair on reprimands as well as affection. Any misbehavior, regardless of who started it, must be handled equally (and with consistency). When play gets too rough, all must be placed in a down-stay position or separated until calm is restored. Make the rules, and then back them up with necessary action. Do not let your resident pet think that the relationship is up to his discretion. Do not force the new dog on him, but make sure he understands that he has no room to question your actions. You brought the new family member into the home and he must accept him. Even if the present dog does not want to interact and build a friendship with the new addition, he must cordially tolerate the existence of the newcomer. If one dog is continually getting into mischief, he may be expressing a need for more attention. * Making Introductions Think positively. Act with authority and confidence. Remember, what you feel and think translates to your actions even if subconsciously, and your animals sense your emotions. Introduce the dogs in neutral territory. A secure, fenced area works well. Opposite-sex introductions tend to go smoother than same-sex introductions. Also, if the dogs are neutered or spayed, you will have an easier time. Praise positive behaviors and avoid giving attention, even negative attention, for undesirable behavior. Do not reprimand, sweet talk, or in any other way interact with your pet until he is calm and relaxed. Be sensitive to signs of stress or incompatibility. Supervise the interactions. Recognize a balance between too much roughness and the natural behavior of dogs working out a social order. During the adjustment period, be patient and cautious. * Once at Home Provide them each a place to feel secure and unintimidated in your home. Your first dog should be able to relax in his spot without worrying that he needs to protect it. At meal time, feed at the same time but in separate areas of a room. Separate with a gate or in different rooms if either dog seems anxious. | |

We Just Got A New Puppy.... Now what am I going to do?
Hello everyone, meet Chigger, our new Rat-Cha puppy. She is kinda cute isn't she.
I know you are probably wondering why my parents chose that name. My parents are clowns, and my dad has several characters - one is a hobo tramp clown, "FLEaBaGG " who operates a Flea Circus; when he preforms, my mom is "Ticks" - so naturally the best name for her is Chigger. So now I have Fleas, Ticks, and Chigger.
You all are probably now itching to know more about this crazy world I live in. That will come later, but for now I am off to sleep. I had a very long night last night she cried all night...well almost all night until mom and I got up and kept her company. Now I am going to get some sleep.

As a reporter, I must say shopping on local online garage sales are the coolest thing since dog bones. Cathy, aka 'mom' was able to pick up this unopened game for just a few dollars. The game is still in the wrap. Dog-opoly for the indiscriminate dog lover! I looked on the internet and found there are other version available. E
ach of these monopoly games is all about the world of dogs, from being board kingpin as the butcher shop owner, to taking game hits by getting fleas, having an accident, or getting sent to the kennel. It’s tail-wagging fun for all!

Dog Lover's Book of Crafts

Sewing CAGE COMFORTERS for shelter animals
This is to encourage ANYONE to make cage comforters for shelter animals. It gives the animals so much security and happiness, and can even help them to get adopted, because they feel more at ease. The sewing can be done by hand or machine, and the result does not have to be perfect ... the animals love them no matter what! You can also make them as pet comforters for your own pets, but it is especially nice if you contact your local shelter and ask them if they can use "cage comforters," and even ask them if they prefer a certain size.
Now I'm really laughing
My Mom decided to get really funny for my Uncle Ron and Aunt Barbara's Wedding Anniversary. She took this picture and made it into a Caricature. This is the first one she did and I think it's really funny, what do you think?

Jewely for my friends Moms!
Hey, my Mom just made friends with a really neat lady named Lisa Greene.
She's this great artist. Wanna know what she does? She makes this
really great jewelry with all kinds of DOG earrings, rings, lockets,
necklaces and so many other things. I
told my Mom (you know I always have to give her advice when it comes to
stuff about dogs) to get some of this jewelry so my friends can show
their Moms too! Isn't that a great idea? Hey everyone, why don't you
look at Lisa's Facebook Page. It's got a really cute name too. It's
called Fine ARF Collection. Let me know what you like so I can get my
Mom to order it. OK? Thanks, I'll be waiting.

My Friend Tucker Playing the Piano
This is a great video of my friend Tucker. I hope to be able to play the piano just like him. My Mom says I can take lessons real soon. I'll keep you posted. Here's about the video.
Tucker, our one and a half year old Schnoodle, plays the piano and sings along at least 3 or 4 times every day. In spite of all of his practicing, he really isn't getting any better at it.

You Make Me Laugh
I got to interview my neighbor Tia. She is a Yorkie (one of those little 1/4 pounders). Boy can she talk, and wow does she make me laugh!
I was able to find out some stuff from her Mom, Jenna and her Dad, Josh. They moved from a house to the apartment living in Harrison, Arkansas. It was real hard for Tia to adjust because she isn't used to being on a leash. Her Mom is going to Cosmetology School and she does nails too! Hey, anyone in Harrison that's looking for a good hair cut or gel nails, let me know and I'll see if I can get you a discount.
Anyway, my Mom was thinking that she would take a picture of Tia and make it into a Fine Art piece. I was so excited when I saw what she did for her. I don't know about the saying my Mom put on it (she always says I'm her little heartbeat at her feet) I guess it's OK for Tia to have the same thing. I'll share.
So that's all I was able to do today. The weather here is really nice, in the 80's, sunny and a nice day to take your dog for a walk and get some fresh air. I'll be letting you know what's going on tomorrow after the DogTipper says something about me on their website tomorrow. Do you have any questions for me? Just ask. OK, I'll be waiting.

What Is She Thinking?
Well, it's Sunday and my Mom made me work. . .AGAIN. My Mom always says a woman's work is never done. Now I know what she means. But what was she thinking to make me get all dressed up on a Sunday afternoon! I already had on my pretty clothes for Church this morning, but then I had to change into my work clothes. I guess I'll never know. Anyway, this is a picture of ME in my work clothes getting ready to interview my new friend Tia. I'll tell you what she said soon.
The Face of Our Mandie
This is a Fine Art piece of ME!!, Mandie, Canine Community Reporter in training. It was created by my Mom. She says I have a beautiful face (which I do) and it should be in movies and pictures. So that's exactly what my mom is doing. Creating pictures of MEEEE!
She is so special. Will you let her know how special she is too!
